Overview: Adele’s latest features some great vocals, but unfortunately they’re paired with generally mediocre songwriting. You can tell that the performance on this album is top notch, but really the songs are only somewhat empty vehicles to carry Adele’s soaring voice. This is still better than a lot of radio pop and is a good album to listen to, but before we consider her to be really incredible, we want to hear her music push the boundaries a bit more.
