Overview: Young Man in America is a folk celebration recognizing the harmony between good songwriting, production, lyrics and overall sound management. Anais Mitchell uses her addictive vocals to paint sonic pictures that take the listener to a simpler, more rural time. Mitchell uses a wide variety of acoustic instruments that sound organic, adding an authenticity that is often lost in today’s over-produced music industry. Overall we felt like this album mostly lives up to the insane hype it has deservedly been receiving.
