Overview: It’s far easier to recognize the impact Relationship Of Command has had on music today than it would have been to predict it ten years ago when the album was first released. But influence aside, this album is still a stand-alone masterpiece that shows how raw energy, complex instrumentality, and political themes can work in an album without sounding pretentious and overdone. Beyond that, you really have to listen to this to believe it. It’s certainly a grower, and no amount of words can prepare you for it.
