Overview: Being that it’s a compilation, Black Tambourine’s self-titled album is quite hard to rate in comparison to other albums. This is noisy, honest post-punk that has some good songwriting and lo-fi production to the max. Because these recordings are quite old, this album works more as a nostalgia kick and tribute to this influential band more than a focused statement from the band itself. Whether this album is great for you really depends on if you can get into the sound and attitude that it represents.
