Overview: For his fourth solo album, Brendan Benson has taken his Weezer-esque influences, tightened up the lyrics, and darkened the lyrics a bit. However, as Jake and Tom feel, he hasn’t quite gotten the music dark enough to match the vocals at time. While this is a decently enjoyable listen, it isn’t Benson’s best material as he is just playing it too safe.
