Overview: Thank You Happy Birthday‘s biggest weakness is how unabashedly it wears its influences on its sleeve. While the bands that Cage The Elephant draw from on this album are generally very good bands, CTE doesn’t bring much new to the table. There are some shining moments on here, but they’re mixed in with a lot of bad ones. Still, there’s some potential to be seen, but it just isn’t fleshed out on this record.
