Overview: Dan Bejar’s latest release under the Destroyer moniker is all about production and attitude reflecting a mood. That mood is introspective, groovy, and slightly tipsy, and the sound that achieves it is like an ambient disco where everyone is too drunk to dance very fast at all. There is a lot of charm and originality here, but there’s also a lot of repetition that gets a bit tedious and unjustified. Still a fun and recommended listening, but to us it certainly wasn’t mind-blowing.
