Overview: Esben and the Witch clearly has a lot of talent, but we felt like this album wasn’t focused and authentic enough to really have the affect that the band had intended. This, along with the airy, slightly off-key vocals, made this not a very enjoyable album experience for us. If you look hollow, moody music, this is probably the thing for you. However, we felt like Violet Cries really missed the mark on what they seemed to be going for.
