Fight Like Apes

VIMTV Album Review #398: Fight Like Apes – The Body of Christ and the Legs of Tina Turner

Jake: 77/100

Tom: 78/100

Verdict: Recommended if you like edgy, synth-driven pop/punk/rock.

Overview: On this album, Fight Like Apes has proven that they have honed a very original and fun sound. For us, however, that sound comes with a couple of attitudes that conflict with each other: angsty and bad-ass against introspective and sincere. With the album flipping between the two quite frequently, it’s a bit hard to attach to either one. Still, there is a lot of undeniably good songwriting on this album, and that makes it difficult, if not impossible, to turn away from.
