VIMTV Album Review #454: Grimes – Visions

Jake: 74/100

Tom: 75/100

Verdict:  A solid electro-pop record with some highlight tracks.

Overview:  Grimes’ Visions is an experimental take on electronic pop music.  The 13 tracks here rarely get overly moody or dancy but rather maintain a good balance.  The highlight of this album is Claire Boucher’s vocals which are varied and produced in a matter that adds another dimension to the sound.  As a whole, the front half of the album feels much stronger than the back half with longer, more monotonous tracks dragging the album on a little too long.  Still, this is a solid release from an up and coming artist.
