VIMTV Album Review #384: Incubus – If Not Now, When?

Jake: 60/100

Tom: 54/100

Verdict: Not recommended, whether you were an Incubus fan or not.

Overview: Past work aside, If Not Now, When? isn’t a very impressive effort on any front. While there are enjoyable moments, they hardly span an entire song and sound more like a band settling with their popularity than evolving as a group.

Jake’s Track Picks:

  • 1. If Not Now, When?
  • 3. Friends And Lovers
  • 7. Defiance

Tom’s Track Picks:

  • 1. If Not Now, When?
  • 8. In The Company Of Wolves

VIMTV Episode #240: Incubus – Make Yourself

Jake: Recommended, 80/100

Tom: Recommended, 94/100

Overview:  Make Yourself was one of the biggest rock albums of the late 90′s and also marked a monumental shift into mainstream that brought Incubus a plenitude of new fans while causing others to disembark.  Here, Incubus blasts listeners with 13 aggressive alternative rock tracks; some better than others.  This album is by no means perfect but there really is no arguing that Make Yourself was one of those pivotal albums that shaped an entire generation, including VIMTV.
