Jack Johnson

VIMTV Episode #139: Jack Johnson – To The Sea

Jake:  Not Recommended, 62/100

Tom:  Recommended, 70/100

Overview: Jack Johnson, the surfer, musician, and filmmaker returns for an album that, while enjoyable, sounds more like a hodgepodge of tracks from his previous two releases than a musical step forward. Johnson still proves himself to be a master of acoustic songwriting and good-old-fashioned charm with To The Sea, but nothing on this album will be surprising to anybody.

Recommended Similar Artists: Citizen Cope, Ben Harper, John Mayer

I honestly thought this album was a move forward for Johnson musically. Especially with that electric guitar solo in the song To the Sea. This will never be my favorite album of his (In Between Dreams will forever hold that spot) but I feel you underrated this a bit.

Fair call! This album seemed a little too subdued for our tastes. Thanks for the comment!
