Overview: With his latest release, James Murphy is still demonstrating his commanding grip on electronic music, even at the age of forty. This Is Happening is certainly more hit-and-miss than LCD Soundsystem’s previous album, Sound Of Silver, but the strong tracks are good enough to carry the album along, despite the undeniable amount of gratuitous self-indulgence (*cough* eight minute songs that don’t do enough *cough*). So if you’re an ADD afflicted music listener, this album is not for you. But if you’ve got the time for an enlightening, fun, and patience-testing experience, check this album out.

Recommended Similar Artists: Talking Heads, Blur, but keep in mind that LCD Soundsystem is hugely original
