Linkin Park
VIMTV Episode #196: Linkin Park – A Thousand Suns
Jake: Not Recommended, 64/100
Tom: Not Recommended, 52/100
Overview: Linkin Park is really going for something different with this album, but different doesn’t always mean good. While these guys are extremely talented, they miss the mark a bit when they make a concept album about the horrors of nuclear war sound bright and dancy at times. While there are some impressive spots on this album and tactful use of transition tracks, the bulk of the album (only nine real songs) is somewhat weak and produces some very cringe-worthy moments. Overall, there’s the occasional gem and some interesting production, but this sounds more like a remix album than a conceptual, fluid statement.
