Overview: The Notwist’s masterpiece album “Neon Golden” may as well defy the laws of gravity. It’s a German electronica album with the occasional guitar and banjo, lead by a vocalist with one of the most deadpan voices you’ll ever hear. And yet, it somehow packs more emotion than nearly anything you’ve ever listened to. It goes from dancy and fun to glitchy and introspective without being jarring once. Even when the loops get lengthy and slow, you never want it to stop. At least these two guys didn’t!
