Shearwater

VIMTV Album Review #451: Shearwater: Animal Joy

Jake: 77/100

Tom: 84/100

Verdict: A good indie rock album with great production, intensity and vocals

Overview: Animal Joy has a primal sense about it that makes the title fit perfectly.  Shearwater presents the listener with driving beats, loud guitars and impressive vocals throughout this album.  The first few tracks are strong, but over the entire play it may seem to lag due to light lack of ideas.  There clearly is a lot of talent here, but if you are looking for an album that expands your horizons this probably won’t cut the cake.  On the other hand, if you are looking for a great example of indie rock then make sure to pick this one up.
