The Twilight Sad

VIMTV Album Review #450: The Twilight Sad – No One Can Ever Know

Jake: 83/100

Tom: 70/100

Verdict: You’ll want to check this out if you are into mood bombs with creepy synths, or if you are WAY into Scottish accents.

Overview: Reeking of post-punk-meets-Radiohead soaked sounds, No One Can Every Know is not one for those seeking a happy experience.  The sound mostly consists of a foundation laid by a steady beat with bass, synths, and a single guitar melody as a foundation upon which James Graham projects his haunting Scottish baritone.  There are moments on this album where the synths, guitars and vocals just sound putrid, but there are also moments of pure genius.  Thus, this record is very polarizing; check it out and see which side of the fence you fall.
