Overview: Them Crooked Vultures is a supergroup to behold: Josh Homme, Dave Grohl, and the legendary John Paul Jones. A dirty, unapologetic, riff-oriented jam band, the closest Them Crooked Vultures gets to any of the members’ original groups is Queens Of The Stone Age, which is still quite a stretch. These songs are fun to listen to, but the album as a whole gets a bit tedious by the end. The songs were constructed as lengthy jams, and while you have to give these guys some credit for not dragging every track to the eight minute mark, a bit more planning and structure would have made this already good album even better.
