VIMTV Episode #90: Thom Yorke – The Eraser

Jake – Highly Recommended, 95/100

Thom – Highly Recommended, 95/100

Overview: As the frontman of one of VIMTV’s favorite bands (Radiohead), Thom Yorke’s solo experiment turned album by the hands of producer Nigel Godrich is a dense ride through an electronic wonderland.  Jake and Tom think this album is a great mood play; perfect for a rainy day.  This is probably because of Thom Yorke’s moody songwriting, electronic beats and powerful lyrics.  Jake would also like to excitedly exclaim that this is not a Radiohead album but rather a quintessential electronic album for your own personal library.

Hey guys, great review! I also loved the album. Black Swan is such a killer song. Have you guys heard New Orleans Trumpeter Christian scott do a jazz cover of the title track Eraser? If not check his album version out on youtube, it is absolutely amazing. You guys should check him out, I know your listeners won’t be much into Jazz but he is like a new brand of Jazz, and just for some proof, the first record he put, Rewind That, his drummer was none other than Thomas Pridgen, The Mars Volta’s drummer on Bedlam in Goliath and Octahedron. Keep up the good reviews!
    Cheers!
