The White Stripes

VIMTV Album Review #330: The White Stripes – De Stijl

Jake: 91/100

Tom: 83/100

Overview: If you think too hard about it, De Stijl will be nearly impossible to like. This album is all about the fun mood of the songwriting and the attitude in Jack White’s guitar, which doesn’t create much depth, but makes a great listen if you’re willing to let it. This album does lack a bit in originality, recalling sounds from The Beatles’ self-titled album and Led Zeppelin’s first three records, but it makes up for it in the kind of quality songwriting and attitude that a lot of today’s music doesn’t have.
