Overview: Red Barked Tree shows that the aged punk-rockers in Wire still have some youthful energy and fresh ideas. This isn’t their best songwriting, but it’s good, and keeps on par with a lot of the music that’s coming out these days. While the biggest difference is the age in Colin’s voice, the production and lyrics may throw a lot of listeners off. If you can get past these aspects, you’ll probably find that Red Barked Tree is overall a quite enjoyable album experience.
